Scabies is a contagious disease which affects people and can spread directly by coming into direct contact with an infected person. The infection could transmit the mites, which are the responsible parasites for scabies. The female mites can lay eggs beneath the surface of the skin and can lead to the spread of the infection. Therefore it becomes imperative to treat the disease at the earliest.
The mites which cause scabies are usually found in the less exposed parts of the body such as between the fingers, wrists, the skin of elbows and the waist. The female mite often lays about four to five eggs. The symptoms of this condition include severe itching in the affected parts, rashes and minute blisters which cannot be seen with the naked eye. Usually, the doctors use magnifying glass to detect the presence of scabies.
We all know that scabies are caused due to the mites present beneath the skin. Therefore even after the treatment is over, the dead mites still remain beneath the skin for a long time. The irritation continues to exist even during the healing process and it can take a lot of time for the symptoms to disappear.
